Cindy Teevens — Spiritual Awakening, the End of Seeking, Enlightenment, Separation & the Nature of Self
After her father’s suicide, Cindy became determined to find an end to suffering. Years later, during the pain of a breakup, she discovered something that changed the direction of her life: the suffering wasn’t caused by the breakup, and the love was not caused by any relationship. The suffering was being created, it’s a real experience of the imaginary mind.
Over roughly two weeks, she repeatedly moved from suffering into joy and back again until she learned to remain in love, joy and peace. For the next nine months, that love continued to deepen until it at times becamse overwhelming. Cindy fell in love with Love itself and wanted to know its source.
She was not a believer. She did not want to believe in God. She wanted to see for herself.
One day, walking in the woods with that longing, she realized that if the totality is God, nothing can exist outside it—including herself.
What followed was an explosion of love that knocked her to her knees, tears streaming down her face. When she looked up at the trees, she saw herself. Everywhere she looked, there was only the same Self that she is. Laughter exploded from her being, tickled every cell and drew tears of love and joy as she fell over in the snow.
Later, things were “wonky” as everything she knew about reality was being re-written—the historical mind was catching up with reality. A waterfall of tingling bliss rained down day and night for months. The extraordinary energetic intensity and months of bliss eventually faded. The realization did not. The loving did not.
Sixteen years later, including through four years of severe physical disability, the fundamental realization has never been lost: what she saw then is still what is seen now.
Cindy distinguishes the mental-emotional experiences accompanying realization from the reality that is realized. Bliss, expansion, energy and other extraordinary experiences arise and pass. An experience happens and passes. The more important question is: when the experience ends, does what is seen end with it?
Awakening is Not Enlightenment
Awakening is waking from the imaginary and temporary real experience of the unreal mind. Dreaming is a verb, an activity and experience. Enlightenment is Self-knowledge: recognizing the nondual identity of oneself and reality.
Self-Realization (or Enlightenment) Doesn’t Fade
Sixteen years after realization, the extraordinary bliss and energetic intensity have faded. What she sees has not: “Everything is still myself. So the seeking ended, but the loving didn’t. I still live in happiness, joy and peace, you could say its the new normal. Even through 4 years of painful disability.”
Enlightenment is Self-realization. It is true Self-knowledge: realizing both what you are not AND what you are. What you realize you are not, you never actually were. What you realize you are, you have always been.
So awakening concerns dreaming. Enlightenment concerns identity.

Cindy doesn’t just talk about transformation—her pointers shift perspectives, dissolve suffering, and awaken laughter and joy.
Cindy Teevens is an international inner peace and happiness facilitator, exceptional and unique in helping people shift their state and transform their lives permanently, from the inside out.
Six years after the suicide of her father, in one moment her own intense suffering was swapped for amazing joy, altering her life permanently. Happiness and peace became her predominant states. Laughter exploded at the simplicity and power of it, and tears of gratitude flowed. Understandings began to come about how we have been living backwards, how we have mistaken the outside for the inside, and how we have tethered ourselves to the uncontrollable winds of change in the midst of freedom—and how we can return to truth, sanity, and peace.
She dropped everything she was doing to show people how to feel good no matter what because when you shift your state, your whole perspective and world shifts; problems dissolve, villains become victims, and compassion kicks in. She wondered “How was it that we could not have known this before?” So many understandings followed this amazing revelation, that she simply could not NOT share this gift. Now Cindy helps people awaken joy in their lives.
About nine months after discovering joy, one day in the woods she was knocked to her knees by an explosion of love that was followed by the end of time and space, self and other, and when she looked up at the trees, she saw them as herself, as everything is. Uncontrollable laughter belted out from the belly of being, tickling every cell in her body as it laid on the snow, laughing and crying at the simplicity and unbounded joy of it all.
