We hear a lot of experts talking about what you’d like to “become” as a person. This means that whatever you became before can change, and is no longer valid. This means that whatever you will “become” can change, and is not valid. These are ideas and thoughts about who you are, they are roles, personality, or material collections. They are not and can never be who you are. Who you actually are is Eternal. Unchanging. Perfect, and not in need of change. So long as you imagine yourself imperfect and pursue conceptual ideas of yourself, you miss your true Self. Don’t be satisfied with the temporary changeful, which always leaves you ignorant.

Yes Cindy, you are correct. king ego will keep many souls in contempt prior to any real investigation of these facts that keep souls in everlasting ignorance. That spiritual literacy is a must. The worlds great wisdom traditions offer all such hope help healing to all who will open their minds and not allow their egos to keep them in such contempt.
of course this will require humility a lot of humility to humble the arrogant pride of the wrong mind
Letting go of our story uncovers our REALITY.
Shifting dreams
Cindy Teevens Exactly, swapping ideas about oneself, swapping egos
Thank you cindy for helping me identify some problems in our journey home.

For me, it seems to be a question of deep remembering, beyond concepts (impossible to ‘explain’) and a visceral connection to the Expanded Perfect Self. I can feel what you point to here, but it seems to be a question of consistency in coming from that place.
Cindy Teevens Consistency coming from what place?
Cindy Teevens How can you ever not be yourself, even inconsistently? Even once? Who you are does not change. Thoughts and feelings do, but they are not who you are. Believing oneself to be thoughts and feelings, the illusory struggle goes on.
The place of experiencing the Self as Perfect and Eternal. It is still an effort to relax into that. Many distractions into thought-based consciousness.
Cindy Teevens It is not a place; it is not an experience. All experiences arise within it.
Cindy Teevens Thoughts do not interfere with it, cannot impede it. Thoughts are not a problem.
I see. Communicating about this is most challenging. But then language is about thoughts…
Cindy Teevens Yes, language is thought. Rather than communicate it, which means asserting it and clinging to the story, question it. What are you really, specifically talking about? Most people are talking about a good feeling when they talk about “getting into a space or place”. But, where is this place or space? Does it actually exist? Do you budge even an inch? When we look at our concepts instead of look as them, we begin to see they fall apart. They have no reality. We can see we are not a thought, nor a feeling. We can see that these things come and go–in your presence, which does not. When we stop identifying as a thought or feeling is when they lose power.
Cindy Teevens The Self is not experienced; it is not an experience. Experiences come and go; the Self does not. It is the unmoving ground of all comings and goings. It can only be recognized, but as long as you only recognize experiences, you miss the Self. If you are enjoying a relaxed or happy moment, you did not suddenly “arrive” in the Self. How can you ever, even for an instant, be outside of all that Is?

Dear Self is a facebook group, a community of sincere seekers.
You are seeking answers to why you feel, act, and react the way you do, or maybe you are even questioning who you are. When the student is ready, the teacher appears (to appear). No matter where answers appear to come from–your mentor, a book, your friend, enemy, dog, or a tree–ultimately, they come from within, from your Self. So ask away, because the Truth is available, here and now. Welcome to the catalystic conversation that can unveil it.

Perhaps you’ve noticed that no matter how hard you try, you can’t stop thoughts, and you are not impressed with many of them. Disillusioned with the temporary material world, you might be asking, “Is this really all there is to life?” You may feel empty and frustrated, perhaps with a sense that something is off, or missing. The big questions, “Why am I here, how did I get here, where do I go from here?” may be arising. You can ask these questions, and more, here. You are not necessarily religious, yet you sense there must be something more, and you might even use the word spiritual. Maybe you’ve heard of the cosmic joke, awakening, or enlightenment, but it all sounds like Greek to you.
Yet still, there must be more…Something real, and true, and lasting.
There is. It is awaiting your recognition.
